Performance Testing

Performance testing provides an objective measure of how your body is functioning, allowing us to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Rather than relying on guesswork, we use advanced technology to gather meaningful data that can be used to guide training, rehabilitation, and performance goals.

Benefits of Performance Testing

Advanced Assessment Technology

Using force plates, isometric strength testing, and movement analysis, we can assess key markers such as strength, power, balance, asymmetries, and force production. These metrics help us understand how effectively your body generates and transfers force during athletic movements.

Improve Performance

Whether you're looking to run faster, lift heavier, jump higher, or simply perform at your best, performance testing can highlight the factors that may be limiting your progress. The results allow for targeted recommendations that help improve efficiency, power, and overall athletic performance.

Reduce Injury Risk

Performance deficits and side-to-side imbalances often develop gradually and can go unnoticed until pain or injury occurs. By identifying these issues early, we can provide strategies to improve resilience, optimise load management, and reduce the likelihood of future injuries.

Suitable for All Levels

Performance testing isn't just for elite athletes. Whether you're a recreational runner, gym enthusiast, team sport athlete, or returning from injury, the information gained can help you train smarter and make more informed decisions about your health and performance.

Who does your testing?

My name is Cole Gibbens. I am an avid long distance runner… you might even say addict. I love to train and race anything from the 5k, up to my preferred distance of the marathon. I am always chasing the 1%’s - the little gains that can improve my performance and reduce my chance of injury so that I can train more consistently without setbacks.

This is where performance testing comes in. I thought being a high mileage athlete, I would be strong, fit and almost invincible. But through the use of objective performance testing, I was able to identify some major flaws in my athletic profile. Most namely my power. Performance testing helped me identify that I’m similar to a cart-horse… I can go for hours on end, but if it comes down to a sprint kick at the end of a race, I’m finished. Good endurance but poor strength and power.

Performance testing showed that I was only in the 20th percentile for strength compared to other runners my age (25)… meaning that 80% of runners were more powerful than me which put me at a severe disadvantage. Based on the findings through this testing, I was able to adapt my training, both running and gym work to make my weaknesses more of a strength. I have gone on to run PB’s that I am very proud of…

5k - 14:23, 10k - 29:45, Half Marathon - 1:04:43, Marathon - 2:16:53

Regardless of the level you’re at, or the sport you compete in, I can help you get better through performance testing. Whether you’re a 30+ minute 5k runner, a weekend golfer, or maybe you’re an elite rugby player. I will find your weakness and help you improve. I understand that sport can be a hobby, or a persons entire world - running is the same for me.
